Troubleshooting Guide

Please consult the Digital Mounting Adapter protocol for a detailed guide to ensure correct configuration.

Printing

It is recommended to use the provided supports for printing, even if the printer software suggests adding more. If there are issues with printing the models, check for any manual supports added to the attachment pattern at the bottom. If any were added, ensure those areas are cleaned up to achieve a flush fit.

Configuring Models

When setting up the models, refer to the text on the bottom of the 3D printed models. This will indicate the exact number of risers required, the adapter placement on the articulator plate, and whether the adapters need to be switched. If something seems incorrect, consult the protocol, which provides a step-by-step guide to ensure proper placement and configuration of the models.

Adapter Screws

If the model does not fully close due to the screws making contact, switch to the smaller dent screws. For models where the upper adapter requires 15mm of risers, use a long screw for the upper and a short screw for the lower.

Adapter Placement

Ensure the raised lines on the adapter base are perfectly aligned with the raised zero lines (or specified measurement) exactly at the indicated number. Even slight misalignment can affect the accuracy of the model placement. For zero plate alignment, make sure the front of the adapter base is flush with the front of the articulator plate to ensure correct positioning. If the plates require a specific adjustment, such as -10mm, ensure the raised lines on the adapter base are precisely positioned as instructed.

Artex Magnet

If the plates shift slightly, the magnet in your Artex may have a small lip preventing it from sitting flush. In this case, you can trim the edge or order a magnet that fits fully into the Artex magnet pocket without the metal edge causing the issue.

Panadent Configuration

For the Panadent articulator, it is important to use the specific plates designated for the upper and lower. The bottom of the Panadent plates will be labeled—one will say “Upper” and the other will say “Panadent.” Ensure they are placed accordingly.
