Step by Step guide, Best Practices, and Guide Download

This step is for technicians who utilize the stylus and want to grind to the proper baseline for mounting.

Step by Step Guide

Step 1: Mark the References

Use the stylus to make a horizontal mark around the entire model with the pencil lead, establishing the baseline. For midline marking, insert the slider into the articulator with the midline marker attached. Adjust the midline marker to the desired height using the slider screw. Remove the stylus pencil, insert it into the midline marker arms, and mark the midline on the model.

Step 2: Grind Model to References

Grind the upper model down to the stylus line to establish a proper horizontal reference. Then, continue with the usual model workflow.

Step 3: Mount the models

Re-attach the upper member of the articulator and pin stopper. Place the properly ground model in the occlusal bite for mounting. Fill the space with plaster to securely mount the upper arch. Once the plaster is set, remove the remaining components and mount the lower arch to the upper.
